Something exciting is coming to digital photography!

This press release was just forwarded to me today. It's an exciting concept for those of us with digital cameras and camera phones...inkless printing - anywhere! They are planning to unveil their first mobile printing products later this year. They're sure to be the "must haves" for the holidays!

Enabling Printing Where It Has Never Before Been Possible

Palm Desert, Calif., January 30, 2007 – ZINK Imaging has unveiled a new way for consumers to print and experience full color digital images without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons. ZINK Imaging’s patented technology, being shown for the first time at the DEMO 07 conference, shifts the printing paradigm from an ink cartridge or ink ribbon, to a totally ink-less system. Images magically appear on the ZINK paper without a drop of ink.The key to the ZINK process is the ZINK paper, which is protected by more than 100 patents and patents pending. Dye crystals are embedded in the ZINK paper and are activated by heat from a ZINK printer. The crystals then colorize, producing high quality, long-lasting, durable, and affordable images. “At ZINK Imaging, we are insisting on the impossible to deliver a revolutionary digital printing experience to the world. ZINK technology does not require ink to print, provides a magical user experience, can transform any device into a printer, is good to the environment and most importantly, makes people smile," said Wendy Caswell, president and CEO, ZINK Imaging. “Our unveiling at DEMO marks the completion of a long and intense road of research and development that has resulted in a patented, innovative printing technology that we are quite proud to deliver this year.”

ZINK Imaging is headquartered in Massachusetts. Read more about it here: http://www.zink.com/.

Pacific Northwest Digital Scrappers Unite!

I read about the Pacific Northwest Digital Scrappers Yahoo!Group on Misty Cato's blog a week or so ago and rushed right over to join up! Boy am I glad I did! They are throwing a unique digiscrappers retreat on the Oregon coast in late April. You go for the weekend and bring your laptop or PC/MAC and digiscrap and/or paper scrap together...what fun! I think there's some card making and stamping being planned, too!

Some members of the group are contributing to the Mega Kit CD that all the attendees will get. The color pallette is full of very northwesty colors, of course! Here's a preview of the elements and alpha I contributed. You might even see a hint of one of the papers I'm doing!

Are you a PNW digiscrapper, too? Join the Yahoo!Group and come play with us!

What's in a name?

While surfing around the web today, I joined a new digital scrapper's website. As I was looking around in the forum area where designers announce their latest products, I happened upon another artist who had named her template sets nearly the same as mine: Jumpstarts vs JumpStart.

Being aware of copyright issues, I checked her shop to see if there was an 'uploaded' date and found that it was ONE DAY before mine. So I politely sent her a message saying my template line was spelled a wee bit differently and, if she didn't mind, then I didn't mind. She replied that she DID mind.

Anyway, to make a long story short (and to keep my karma intact), I renamed my template line to "Just-in-Time" (JIT). So, if you purchased any of my templates and are confused when you go back to get more...just remember the new name...Just-in-Time!

Introducing - a new Creative Team member!

Please welcome - LEXI! She's a SAHM of a rambunctious 4 year old boy who has discovered that digiscrapping is less messy and safer around small children (no scissors!). Lexi also creates some great layered templates that I love to use!

You'll be seeing her work with my designs here and there around the web.
Here's her blog - go say "HI!"

I still have a spot for one more person...is it you?
